I’m Lori, a design lover, DIY enthusiast and lifelong homebody who believes our homes should evolve right along with us.
The Rendered Nest began as a place to explore the spaces I love, the projects I’m brave enough to try, and a new season of life with a little more room for creativity, curiosity and adventure.
Here you’ll find the real-life evolution of our home, the design styles I’m still figuring out, hands-on projects, everyday rituals and the occasional adventure beyond the nest.
I don’t have it all figured out, and that’s rather the point. I’m creating a home and a life that feel more like me, one layer at a time.

For me, creating a home has never been about perfection. It’s about noticing how a space feels, surrounding ourselves with things that matter, and letting our homes change as we do. I want ours to feel comfortable, collected and unmistakably ours, with a little room left for the unexpected.
Life Lately
Tim and I are finding our way into a new season of life as our two sons, Ben and Sam, build their own lives. After years when family life shaped so much of our days, I'm discovering what it looks like to have a little more time and space to ask, What now?
These days, that often means dreaming up another project for our home, learning something new, getting outside, planning an adventure, or simply noticing the small things that make an ordinary day feel good. Our home in Alberta is very much a work in progress and, if I'm being fair, so am I.
The Rendered Nest is where I share it all: what I'm changing, what I'm creating, what I'm learning, and the occasional idea that seemed much easier before I started it.
